I enjoyed the nod to the past in the use of the term "assistant" as well. Also, I was just discussing with a friend how no issue seems to be made anymore of the Doctor needing to refuel the TARDIS on the rift. Either we're just supposed to assume that he does it between stories or they've simply dropped the whole idea.

You also bring up a good point about the Doctor not appearing in the ghost stories. I hadn't really considered that angle, but it seems like he should have, unless it was only her familial connection with the house that was making her appear on that spot, but that was never stated in the story.

Sonoran Desert National Monument is part of the National Conservation Lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The model for the Conservation Lands is different from the park service-style monuments, where there's a visitor center inside the unit, paved walkways to the "attraction" and twice daily ranger talks.

Instead, the Conservation Lands model is to keep much of the land as it is, siting visitor services (when necessary) in adjacent communities. This allows for a more personal journey through the land, a chance to discover the land through self exploration. However, this requires visitors to be self-sufficient and prepared.

I'm a fellow national parks road tripper (just crossed off my 237th national park last month) and while I enjoy the experience that those provide, I really love that the Conservation Lands provide a different way to enjoy the outdoors.

Well said! I am a news junkie & have been avoiding Twitter & all my other news sources since Monday night. All of the misinformation is completely ridiculous! & why do they think we need to see the same horrific images/videos over & over again? It's so ridiculous. Maybe when they get their facts straight & stop showing the images I'll tune in again. I for one would like to have accurate information, NOT "the person that heard it first".

•Speaking of kids… Clara realizes that the Doctor has been watching her, at least at her mother’s funeral. Do we really need another “my childhood was spent with the Doctor” character?

- My response to this is simple: I don't think he was watching her in the same way as Amy. More like the Doctor was studying her, attempting to learn if something in her past made her (as he states) "Not possible". Clara is a puzzle...and you know how the Doctor loves a good puzzle.
