We FINALLY got the rabies test results back for Leena and Caspian! My vet has the official copies, which I will pick up later this week, add to my other pile o’ paperwork along with a notarized import form (still need to get that…) and then the kitties are DONE!
Paperwork: accounted for
Kitties: GOING TO HAWAI’I!
This is a huge load off of my mind. I’ve been jumping through hoops all summer over this. Now all I have to do is collect my paperwork and overnight it to the correct address (with about $500 to cover costs… yikes!), then get a health certificate for them within 14 days of flying. Sounds like a lot, but compared to what I’ve been doing, it’s nothing. Well, the $500 is something, but the actual legwork isn’t so bad.
Yay for kitties travelling!
By the way, they’ll be directly released to us in the airport, as long as the fees are paid and their microchips scan correctly, and there’s no reason why that shouldn’t happen smoothly. That means no 4 month quarantine at the end of the trip, and even though they’ll have to be on an airplane for way longer than I would like, they’ll go home with me at the end of the day, and that’s all I want right now.
Oh, and if you’re wondering just what I’ve been through so far, check out this (.pdf form) checklist… It’s a doozy.
