Happy New Year! ^_^

I’m sitting up, waiting for a phone call. I had one earlier, but thanks to time zones, we missed midnight. This isn’t the first time J and I have done two-stage new year’s calls, though, and I doubt it will be the last. The rumble of the fireworks is less intense than last year, too– stricter laws are doing their job, I suppose, but it still sounds like a cacophony.

I’m looking forward to a lot of things this year, and for the first time in as long as I can remember, the new year really represents a fresh start; it’s bound to be better than last year. We’ve got another move this year– around September we’ll be going somewhere new again, and as of now we have no idea where we’ll be going or what J’s job will be. I’m really optimistic, though.

Things to anticipate:

• friends coming in visit in the spring
• possible overseas travel
• a new place to live
• movies for which I am excited– Hunger Games and The Hobbit come to mind!
• time to spend with J and visiting other islands
• a summer mission trip in July/August

Life is looking up and I’m going to enjoy my last 9 or 10 months in Hawaii. I’ve decided to treat this year as an adventure and just take it as it comes. And photos will follow, as always.
