The news this morning was that Hawai’i was on tsunami watch, but I found the following through Weather.com, according to NOAA:
AN 8.3 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE HAS OCCURRED NEAR THE ISLAND OF SAMOA IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN THIS MORNING. BASED ON ALL AVAILABLE DATA A MAJOR TSUNAMI IS NOT EXPECTED TO STRIKE THE STATE OF HAWAII. HOWEVER SEA LEVEL CHANGES AND STRONG CURRENTS MAY OCCUR ALONG THE COAST THAT COULD BE A HAZARD TO SWIMMERS… BOATERS AND BEACHES. THEREFORE THE TSUNAMI WATCH FOR HAWAII IS CANCELED BUT A TSUNAMI ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM HST THIS EVENING. THE ESTIMATED TIME SUCH EFFECTS MIGHT BEGIN IS 100 PM HST.
So I guess we won’t be going to the beach today. ~_^
The move went well yesterday. The furniture is… Well, like really old rented-beach-house-furniture. We’ll get ours in about three weeks.
J goes to the ship tomorrow and will be back Friday night. We’ll have the weekend, and then he’ll be on board from Monday to Friday again next week. Yay training, right?
I’ll have limited internet access, so contact me via phone if you need or want me. ^_^ I’ll blog as I’m able!
